High quality shorts but could be roomier

These men's fishing shorts were better than expected in terms of both styling and build quality. All the vulnerable tear points have bar tack stitches, and the overall design and look is well thought out. The pockets are all functional and well located. My only peeves are minor, and one is completely subjective: at the time I order these there was no size guide so I guessed large. Large was correct for my US 36" waist, but the shorts still seem like they could be roomier through the crotch area and legs. If you are more on the slender side these will fit better than if you are chubby. The inseam length is 6" as noted (I'd prefer 7-8", but that's personal). Lastly, the label says "4 Way Stretch" but the material has no stretchiness in it whatsoever. The waistband does have elasticity, though. Overall pleased and would recommend.

Pockets for Storage

I picked these Palmyth Mens Fishing Shorts for my husband. They are made of a nylon material which will be great for fast drying especially if you are boating or fishing. There is plenty of storage options with the pockets two slant style hip pockets, one velcro left side/front pocket, one right side split pocket with a velcro section and an open section which has a lined reinforced pocket for pliers, and two butt pockets with zippers that can accommodate a cell phone. The waistband is wide and has belt loops so you can wear a belt. I ordered according to the size chart, and if you're on the higher end of the size chart you may want to size up if you would like more room. My husband does not care for these shorts because they seem like they are too tight to put things in your pockets and are shorter than he would like although the inseam measures 6 inches. The price point is on the higher end of what I would pay for fishing shorts and their nylon and on the thin side which is a concern, especially if you are hard on shorts.

Palmyth Men’s Fishing Shorts (Khaki, Large) ★★★★☆ (4 out of 5 stars)

These shorts are lightweight and quick-drying, making them practical for fishing or outdoor use. The added pocket for tools is useful, and the fabric feels breathable, flexible, and durable, and is of high quality. Fit is comfortable for active movement.Pros:• Quick-drying material• Functional pockets• Lightweight and breathableCons:• Limited insulation

More like fishing shorts than the picture suggests

The main picture on the Amazon page makes these shorts look trim and fit. They aren't. They are wrinkly, baggy, and kind of schlumpy looking. The belt loops are very wide and the pants accommodate a wide belt. Well, they are fishing shorts. That's what you'd expect--if there were no pictures. They have lots of pockets, some of which close with velcro, others zip. They are very functional pants. Because they are nylon, they dry quickly. They are also bulky. They don't look great, but they are comfortable.

Built for the Boat – My Son Noticed the Pliers Pocket Right Away

Summary:These fishing shorts are designed for comfort and function on the water, featuring a quick-dry fabric, multiple utility pockets, and a dedicated pliers pocket for easy access while fishing.Quality and appearance:The material feels durable yet lightweight. The overall look is clean and practical—nothing flashy, just solid fishing gear that looks ready for action. Stitching and construction feel reliable.Size and fit:The 6” inseam gives a modern, above-the-knee fit that allows for easy movement. The elastic waistband adds flexibility, making them comfortable whether standing, bending, or sitting on the boat.Weight:Lightweight and breathable, which is exactly what you want for long days in the sun and heat. How I used it:I wore these on a fishing trip with my son, and we were constantly moving around the boat. The pockets came in handy, especially the pliers pocket for quick access.Performance good and bad:Good: Quick-dry fabric works well, and the multiple pockets are actually useful—not just for show. The pliers pocket is a standout feature.Bad: With so many pockets, you have to remember where you put things—but that’s a minor trade-off for the storage.Durability:The nylon fabric feels tough and holds up well to outdoor use. It seems like it will handle repeated trips and exposure to water without issues.Texture and feel:Smooth, lightweight, and breathable. Comfortable enough to wear all day without feeling stiff or heavy.Value for money:You’re getting a well-designed pair of fishing shorts with practical features that make a difference on the water. Solid overall value.Ease of use:Easy to wear, easy to move in, and the pockets are intuitive once you use them a couple of times.Overall recommendation:If you’re into fishing or need functional outdoor shorts, these are a great pick. My son even pointed out how useful the pliers pocket was, which says a lot—they’re built with real fishing in mind.

Comfortable; solid mobility

I dint' get these for fishing, but rather to replace a favorite pair of hiking and working around the house shorts. I like the lightweight of the shorts and how they fit. I usually wear a 32" or 33" and the medium fits great. They aren't long shorts, which I like because they don't get overly hot.The are comfortable and are flexible. I'd say they grab a little when lifting a left real high (for example, taking 2-3 steps up at a time), but that really isn't a problem. The pockets are nice and there are plenty of spots to put tools or hiking gear.

Good but feels more like swim trunks than cargo shorts

These shorts are 100% nylon and are very lightweight. The cut is a little higher than I like with the bottom of the shorts hitting me about 3" above the knee. I got the XL and they fit exactly as you'd expect and want for that size. The front closes with a button and zipper. The zipper is a small teeth plastic which didn't feel very durable. The Velcro patches to keep the pockets closed are really strong and when I opened them, I was worried I might tear them off of the shorts. The stitching is done really well with some impressive spacing work. I didn't love the feel of the shorts. There was a plastic tactile component that made me think I was wearing swim trunks rather than shorts. I think the price is a bit high for what you're getting but the overall quality is really good.

You'll want to size up, but great shorts. Very comfortable, convenient for fishing and fast drying.

I got these for my husband, but ended up giving them to my father-in-law. They run a little small, so I would recommend sizing up. They aren't very stretchy, so sizing up would be your best bet. My father-in-law loves them though! He says they are very comfortable and the pockets are ideal for fishing. He especially likes the plier pocket. He likes the fact that they have belt loops and says they dry quickly. If the sizing was accurate, I would have given them 5 stars. Overall, I would say they are a good value for the money as long as you size up.

Would be better with stretchy material

These are nice fishing shorts but the fit is a bit off. I would order up a size, these fit more snugly than my other 2 pairs of Palmyth shorts. These could really benefit from a stretchy material, it would add a lot in the way of comfort they would move with you better. The material is lightweight and breathable, it looks like swimsuit material. It is very quick drying which is great when you're on the water. The elastic waistband is wide and comfortable and can be worn without a belt, but I definitely appreciate having the belt loops so I can wear them with a belt if I like. The pockets on these shorts are well laid out. There are 2 back pockets that both have zippers to keep your stuff secure. The front pockets are nice and deep. I like the lined pocket nade for fishing pliers, it's a great idea and it protects the lightweight material from unnecessary wear.I'd recommend ordering up a size, I can barely get my hands down into the pockets with the way these fit.

A great choice

These shorts fit great and are well constructed. They have lots of pockets that are very handy for keeping gear organized. I haven’t worn them out on the water yet, but I’m looking forward to testing the quick dry fabric and durability over time.

Well made and designed, quick dry shorts suffer from being too short for my style

I didn't think carefully enough about the shorts having a 6" inseam, but it turns out that they are too sort for my comfort. In Europe, I see some men wearing rather short shorts, but here it's not our style. Otherwise, they are really well made, with durable quick drying fabric and seven utility pockets for holding different fishing gear. I like the stretchy waist band and the easy to access external pockets and zippered back pockets that won't lose a wallet.

Practical and Comfortable 6-Inch Fishing Cargo Shorts

As an Amazon Vine reviewer, I’ve been putting these Palmyth men’s fishing shorts through real-world use on the water and around the house, and I genuinely like them. In size medium and khaki, they strike a nice balance between technical performance and everyday wearability. The 6-inch inseam is my favorite length for fishing shorts — short enough for freedom of movement when casting or stepping into a kayak, but long enough to feel appropriate and sun-protective. The quick-dry fabric is noticeably effective. After getting splashed or wading in the creek, the shorts dry fast and never feel heavy or clinging. That’s a big deal when you’re out for hours and don’t want damp fabric sticking to you.I especially appreciate the thoughtful design details. There’s a dedicated pliers pocket on the right side that securely holds my fishing pliers without them digging into my leg or falling out when I sit down. The other six pockets are well-placed and deep enough for a phone, wallet, keys, and a small tackle box or leader spool. The elastic back waistband with drawstring gives a comfortable, adjustable fit that stays secure even when I’m bending or kneeling. In medium, the fit feels spot-on — not too tight, not baggy, with enough room to move freely. The khaki color is practical and versatile. It hides dirt and fish scales better than lighter shades, yet still looks clean and stylish enough to wear from the boat straight to lunch. The overall construction feels solid: reinforced stitching at stress points, quality zippers and snaps, and fabric that has held up well after several washes without pilling or fading. What I find most insightful is how these shorts quietly solve the little annoyances I’ve had with other fishing or cargo shorts. No more constantly adjusting a sagging waist, no more digging for tools in deep pockets, and no more waiting forever for the fabric to dry after getting wet. They just work the way you want them to when you’re focused on fishing rather than fighting your clothes. These Palmyth fishing shorts are a great item with excellent quality and outstanding value. They deliver practical features like the pliers pocket and quick-dry performance while remaining comfortable and stylish enough for daily wear. I’ve already reached for them multiple times over other pairs in my drawer. If you spend time on the water or just need reliable, functional shorts for warm weather, I think you’ll appreciate them as much as I do.

good warm weather short

Palmyth Men’s Fishing Shorts with Pliers Pocket 6" Inseam. (XL, Khaki).Super lightweight and comfortable. Hardly know I am wearing them. They dry really fast, too. Front pockets are really large, and there is an additional velcro exterior pocket on top of the front pockets. Which means that if you have stuff in one, it's hard to get stuff in the other one. I would have prefered the extra pockets on the side, like other cargo shorts. The rear pockets are zippered and quite roomy too. The "plier" pocket is handy, and reinforced with thicker material, which is great for actually storing pliers, but is a little small for other items, like a cell phone. All in all, these are a good warm weather short.

Good shorts but with a strange fit.

These are pretty good shorts. I really like the material, it seems strong but is thin, cool and dries fast. I particularly like the pliers pocket as it's square and reinforced; some make them in the shape of pliers but what if I need them for something else, what then, the pocket on these is more versatile. The only cons I see are the sizing and fit, or maybe just the fit, it seems the waist runs large but the seat runs small, it is....well......weird. They feel loose, too loose, until you try to sit down and then you feel like the seat is going to rip. It doesn't though, they are well-built it seems, so while it is a little interesting it isn't a deal breaker. Overall, they aren't bad, just something to be aware of.

Nice!

I recently picked up the Palmyth Men’s Fishing Shorts with the 6” inseam, and they’ve quickly become one of my favorite pairs for both fishing trips and everyday summer wear. The first thing that stood out is how lightweight and quick-drying they are. Whether you’re dealing with splashes on the boat or just sweating in the heat, these shorts handle moisture really well and dry fast, which makes a big difference during long days outside. The fabric also has a bit of stretch, so you’re not restricted when moving around, casting, or climbing in and out of a boat. One of my favorite features is the pliers pocket—it’s such a practical addition if you fish regularly. Having a dedicated spot for tools keeps everything within reach and saves you from digging through other pockets. And speaking of storage, there are plenty of pockets overall, including secure zippered ones, so you can carry essentials without worrying about losing anything. The 6” inseam gives them a modern, slightly shorter look, which I actually prefer. They feel less bulky than traditional cargo shorts and stay comfortable even in really hot weather. The waistband is also comfortable and doesn’t dig in, which is important if you’re sitting or moving around a lot.Another nice bonus is the added sun protection and breathable design. These are clearly made with outdoor use in mind, and you can tell—they’re built for long, active days whether you’re fishing, hiking, or just hanging out.If I had one small critique, it would be that with so many pockets, you have to be a bit mindful not to overload them, or they can feel slightly bulky—but that’s kind of expected with utility-style shorts.Overall, these are a solid choice if you want functional, comfortable, and durable fishing shorts. They strike a great balance between performance and everyday wear, and the added tool pocket really sets them apart for anglers.

Comfy but with small pockets

What we love:•They are light which most def helps them dry fast•They are comfortable to wear•There are no loose threadsWhat a prospect buyer should know:•We took a guess when ordering the size, for, when ordering they only listed M/L/XL but there was no additional mentions on sizing in inches but we went for M and that one was perfect for 30" waist which will also fit a 32" waist•Five out of the seven pockets are too small for practical usage (at least for our needs) but, luckily, the two back pockets are large enough to fit and iPhone Pro Max
