Nice looking very hardy material

I love this hat for me. I have very fair skin and I love the sun but I hate what it’s done to my skin over the years. I learned to protect myself when I’m gardening or enjoying playtime with my grandchildren. It’s very thick and water resistant. It washes up nicely and it’s adjustable to fit. I like the color since neutral colors match anything. I appreciate the shape of the back as it hangs low enough to cover my neck and shoulders. I recommend this hat and feel it is priced fairly for the quality and usefulness.

Lightweight sun hat with adjustable cooling features

I needed a hat for sun protection on my deep-sea fishing trip, and this was perfect for the conditions. The material is very lightweight and includes a wide brim with a neck flap to provide full coverage for the face and neck. A draw strap is located at the forehead to adjust the tension around the head, while a second strap fits under the chin to keep the hat secure in the wind. The synthetic fabric is breathable and can be wetted down during the heat of the day to provide extra evaporative cooling. This hat is made from a thin material that allows it to fold up easily so it can be kept in a small pocket of a gear bag. The mesh sections are positioned to allow air to circulate while the solid panels block the direct sun. Even when saturated with water, the fabric remains comfortable and does not feel heavy on the head. The stitching on the brim is stiff enough to prevent it from flopping into the eyes during movement. Here is something you might find helpful: if the hat gets salt spray on it during a trip, rinsing it with fresh water afterward will prevent the drawstrings from becoming stiff over time.

My new best summer friend! This is an amazing hat!

This hat is my lifesaver! I'm an avid gardener, and I'm always bent over the containers either planting or weeding. This hat saves my neck and ears from the intense sun and keeps me cooler while I work. The material is moisture-wicking, and the drawstring around the head keeps it comfortably fit. There's also a chin strap to keep the wind from blowing it away. It dries quickly if it gets wet (which I intentionally do to assist in cooling), and this hat holds it's shape on the front brim very well. I'm a fan of the internal sweat band as it keeps my eyes clear from dripping sweat. Overall, this is a quality hat at a great price point. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for some sun protection for fishing, gardening, or just being outside.

A stylish, well-crafted hat that fits perfectly.

The Palmyth Fishing Hat UPF 50+ is a wide-brim, safari-style hat with a neck flap and breathable mesh, made for both men and women. It features an adjustable buckle closure for a custom fit across different head sizes, plus an adjustable drawstring at the back to fine-tune comfort. The hat is sturdy, with neatly sewn seams, no loose threads, and a consistent neutral color. Made from UPF 50+ water-resistant fabric, it’s more stylish than expected and comfortable to wear, though a ponytail opening would be a nice addition. Mesh ventilation eyelets and a full mesh band keeps my head cool, while the built-in neck flap offers great sun protection. An adjustable buckle and removable windproof chin strap ensure it stays secure, even during windy conditions on a boat. It matches the pictures perfectly, complete with a charming fish-shaped front logo. While it’s a solid, high-quality fishing hat that works well, it does feel a bit pricey. Brand: Palmyth

Beach-Ready Sun Cover That Feels Easy to Wear

This hat looks like a smart choice for sunny days, and my wife is ready for the beach with this hat. The wide brim and neck flap give it that practical sun-shielding feel, and the light neutral color makes it easy to wear with just about anything. In the photo, the hat sits low enough to help cover the face and neck without looking bulky, which I like because it feels useful without trying too hard. The mesh details and overall shape make it seem comfortable for warm weather, and the fit looks secure enough for walking around, sitting outside, or dealing with a little breeze. What stood out to me most is that it looks simple, but in a good way. It seems made for real outdoor use, not just for looking cute in a drawer, and that makes it easy to picture for beach days, yard work, or fishing. The flap adds extra coverage, which is great when the sun is doing the most, and the hat does not look heavy or awkward. It is a practical hat that still has a relaxed style, so it feels like one of those things you grab and are glad you have.

Not Glamorous…But Absolutely Essential (And It Actually Works)

This is one of those purchases that’s not about fashion—it’s about function—and it delivers exactly where it matters. The sun protection is no joke. The wide brim plus the neck flap offers real coverage, especially on the back of your neck where you often forget until it’s too late. If you’re outside for long periods (games, yard work, beach days, anything), this makes a noticeable difference. What surprised me most is how breathable it is. The mesh ventilation actually works, so you’re not overheating or feeling suffocated like you can with some sun hats. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and easy to wear for hours. The fit is also well designed. The adjustable drawstring and chin strap keep it secure without feeling tight or annoying—especially helpful if it’s windy or you’re moving around a lot. It’s also water-resistant enough to handle splashes or light rain without turning into a soggy mess.Overall: super practical, comfortable, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Not the most stylish hat you’ll own—but probably one of the most useful.

Great for bigger heads, wide brim, functional and good value

This Palmyth Fishing Hat sun hat is exactly what I was looking for for long days outside, where sun exposure is unavoidable. I have a larger head, and most hats tend to run too tight, but the fit and sizing on this one are noticeably better. It sits comfortably without pressure, and I don’t have to force it over my head. I plan to use it primarily for mountain hikes where there is no tree cover, as well as an upcoming fishing trip in Florida in July. The wide brim and neck flap provide coverage that makes a real difference compared to a standard cap. I have no complaints with this hat based on my use so far. Everything functions as expected without any obvious drawbacks or design issues. The build quality is appropriate for the price point and is fairly practical. The polyester material feels lightweight but not fragile, and it does a good job managing sweat while also offering some water resistance against light splashes. IT folds and stores easily and doesn’t hold creases or noticeable bends if packed away. The stitching and overall construction look good, and the appearance is functional. It is well-suited for repeated or even daily use outside. The adjustable pull string on the back helps with the fit, especially if you are between sizes, and the chinstrap adds another level of security in windy conditions. I found that useful when moving around in open areas where the wind can pick up unexpectedly. The breathable mesh ventilation around the hat helps airflow, making it more comfortable in heat than fully enclosed hats. The wide brim does a good job shading the face, and the neck flap adds extra protection without getting in the way. It has a UPF rating, but with solid cover like this, it’s about as protective as you can get. It’s nice when you are trying to avoid constantly reapplying sunscreen. At around 30 dollars, it’s a pretty good deal, and I may end up getting another. It performs just as well, if not better, than similar hats I have seen in sporting goods stores that cost two to three times as much. The functionality, fit, and overall usability make it a good option for doing just about anything outside in the sun. If you, like me, have struggled to find hats that fit larger head sizes comfortably, this one is worth considering.

A Sun Hat Built for Battling the Texas Heat, Which Is Basically a Sentient Demon

The Palmyth UPF 50+ fishing hat earns its keep the moment you step outside in a Texas summer, where the heat isn’t just “hot” — it’s a living creature sent straight from the underworld to test your will to survive. The wide brim throws real shade, the neck flap shields the exact spot the sun always tries to scorch first, and the fabric keeps breathing even when the air itself feels like it’s holding a grudge. The mesh panels help keep your head from simmering, and the khaki color stays cool instead of absorbing heat like it’s trying to cook you. It’s lightweight, adjustable, and stays put when the wind decides to join the fight. If you live anywhere the sun behaves normally, this hat is great. If you live in Texas — where summer feels like Satan left the oven door open — this hat is essential gear.

Great for those times you've gotta stand outside looking dumb while the sun hangs out and proves it

I should have picked up one of these hats years ago. Sometimes I'm standing out in the sun for long periods of time shooting video footage, and it's not always possible to set up in the shade. While you've really gotta cover up everything, having a hat that offers good coverage is almost magical. The front has a semi-stiff brim that stays out of your primary field of view, but does a good job of blocking the sun at almost any angle until you're getting close to sunset. Meanwhile, the back very floppy and the coverage is basically from my ears down the side of my neck and over the back of my neck. It would be tough to get a sunburn with this hat on.It's also pretty breathable, though it still naturally holds in some heat. I think I would have liked a few more air holes around the brim, but that's a small gripe. After a while of wearing the hat, I do find it's still a little tight on my head, even with the drawstring completely loose. I have come to terms with having maybe a slightly large head, but I think going a size up would be too loose.Anyway, just from looking at the materials and difficulty of making this hat, I admit that $30 does seem a little high to me. However, it's designed and manufactured well, so I'm not in the strongest position to complain if I'm not going to copy it myself. It's a good hat and worth the cost since I'll be using it a lot this summer.

Total Sun Protection and Breathable Comfort — My Husband’s New Outdoor Essential

The fishing hat is actually versatile and is now my husband’s lawn‑mowing hat, and honestly, it has been a game‑changer for him. He’s bald and burns so easily, so sun protection is a big deal in our house. This hat has been a nice upgrade from the ballcap he used to wear for this specific chore. The difference in coverage is huge — instead of just shading the top of his head, this hat covers him completely. The wide brim shields his face and ears, and the neck flap protects the back of his head and neck, which is where he usually burns the fastest. The material is lightweight and breathable, which matters when you’re outside in the heat pushing a mower around. The mesh ventilation panels help keep air flowing so he doesn’t overheat, and the fabric dries quickly if he sweats. He said it feels much cooler than wearing a regular cap, and it doesn’t trap heat the same way. The overall appearance is not bad it is as pictured black hat with a cape lol and the overall fit is comfortable without feeling tight. The UPF 50+ rating gives us peace of mind because we know he’s getting real sun protection, not just shade. It’s also become his go‑to hat for other outdoor tasks — trimming, gardening, washing the car, and even quick walks with the dogs. It folds easily for storage, and the material hasn’t faded or worn down despite being used multiple times a week. For anyone who spends time outdoors — especially those who burn easily — this hat is absolutely worth it. It’s practical, protective, and comfortable, and it has officially replaced every other outdoor hat he owned. A simple upgrade that makes a big difference.

Great Sun Coverage for Hot Days Outside

I primarily use this item for yard work to mitigate the risk of sunburn during long hours outside. The integrated sun protection for the neck is exceptional. It covers a vulnerable area that standard hats often miss, allowing me to work without worrying about getting burned. I was particularly looking for something that wouldn't feel cumbersome or stifling in the heat. It is incredibly lightweight and manages temperature well, so it never feels overly hot even in direct sunlight.I also noticed the fabric offers some water resistance, which is a nice bonus if I get caught in a light drizzle or if I am sweating heavily. It doesn't soak through immediately or become heavy. It fits securely and stays in place, making it a reliable choice for active outdoor chores. If you need practical gear that prioritizes comfort and coverage, this is a solid option.

Sun protection and Comfort

If you spend 4 days a week mowing your farm, this type of hat is a necessity. The UPF 50+ protection, the wide brim, the neck flap, and the breathable mesh are all the things I would expect of a quality made hat. The breathable mesh and holes at the top keep my head cooler and helps keep perspiration at a minimum.I like the idea of dipping the neck flap of this hat in water and wringing it out to keep my neck cooler in the 90 plus degree heat. I also like the fact that it has a drawstring to keep it resting firmly on my head. It can get quite windy out in the country.

Great Sun Protection Without Feeling Hot

I’ve been using this hat for fishing and yard work, and it’s been a solid upgrade from my old one. The coverage is excellent—the added neck flap really helps keep the sun off the back of your neck, which makes a big difference during long hours outside. What surprised me most is how breathable it feels. Even on warmer days, the ventilation keeps air moving so it doesn’t get stuffy or uncomfortable. It’s lightweight enough that I forget I’m wearing it after a while. The fit is easy to adjust, and the chin strap comes in handy when it’s windy. It stays put without feeling too tight, which is exactly what you want when you’re moving around or out on the water.I’ve also noticed it handles light splashes just fine, which is useful when fishing or working around water. It dries quickly and doesn’t feel heavy afterward.Overall, it’s a practical, comfortable hat that does its job well. If you spend a lot of time outdoors in the sun, this is definitely worth picking up.

Fishing Hat UPF 50+ Sun Hat Wide Brim Neck Flap Breathable Mesh Safari Hat

Okay, this is an Amazon Vine review for the Palmyth Fishing Hat in Khaki, with UPF 40+ sun protection and neck flap. It’s designed for extended outdoor use like fishing, gardening, or yard work where you need consistent sun coverage. The wide brim and neck flap provide solid coverage for face, ears, and neck. Lightweight material with mesh panels helps with airflow and keeps it from feeling too hot. Adjustable fit (chin strap/drawstring) keeps it secure even in wind. The khaki color is neutral and practical for outdoor use. Packs down easily for storage or travel.Things to know: UPF 40+ offers good protection; The neck flap can feel a little awkward at first if you’re not used to that style; It’s more about function than style—very much a utility/outdoor look; Breathability is good.Overall: This hat does exactly what it’s supposed to do—provide reliable sun protection for long periods outdoors. It’s comfortable, adjustable, and practical, especially if you’re working or spending time in direct sun. A solid choice if coverage matters more than appearance.

Very comfortable sun protection

I spend a lot of time outdoors here in the southern part of Texas. During the summer, the sun can be really brutal, especially on days that end in the letter Y. This hat really makes a difference. The wide brim keeps the sun off your face, and the lightweight neck flap protects both the back of your neck and the sides. I like how light and comfortable this hat is, and at the same time how well-made it is. The neck flap isn't just a cheap piece of nylon sewn on the back; it's securely attached, has a nice hem, and a liner so that it has enough body to it to stay in place. The brim itself has eight rows of stitching to add stability and should hold up for a long time. Since I have a rather large head, I don't like wearing the pull-over type of head and face sun protectors while fishing. This hat is the perfect solution for that. I am very pleased with this product and believe it truly deserves all Five Stars!

Lightweight Sun Protection That Actually Covers Your Neck

I got this for outdoor use, and the coverage is honestly what makes it stand out. The wide brim plus the neck flap gives full protection—not just your face but the back of your neck too, which is usually what gets missed with regular hats. It’s very lightweight and breathable, especially with the mesh panels, so it doesn’t feel heavy or suffocating even in warmer weather. The adjustable chin strap is a nice touch and helps keep it in place on windy days.Fit-wise, it’s comfortable and easy to adjust. It does have more of a functional look than a stylish one, so this is definitely more for practicality than fashion.Overall, this is a solid option if you need reliable sun protection for outdoor activities like walking, fishing, or events where you’ll be in the sun for a while.
