My go to fishing shirts for the past 3 years. They are comfortable and lightweight in the heat, they keep me from sun burning myself since I refuse to use sunscreen, and they are even slim enough to fit under heavy jackets on boat rides and overnight trips. I highly recommend. I’ve bought about every shirt they make.
I got this Palmyth long sleeve fishing hoodie (in the seaweed/trout color) as a gift for my husband. He recently purchased his dream boat and I want him to be protected while out in that scorching CA sun. His favorite color is green and he was really excited to wear the shirt on his early morning fishing trip today. Here's his review of the shirt: the material is super lightweight and breathable. He really likes that there's a gaiter attached to the hood so you don't have to wear three separate things. Even though the shirt is a dark color, he stayed cool because of the material and didn't get a sunburn. The little fabric triangle that sewn into the hem is pretty convenient for cleaning off your glasses. He hasn't seen that in any of his other fishing shirts and thought it was neat. The only negatives he reported: the hood is HUGE. Like, comically huge. It apparently kept falling off his head as he was boating down river and that was annoying. The finger loop things are sewn in differently than any of his other fishing shirts - I guess the loops are sewn in at an awkward angle, so they just feel unnatural when using them. Other than that, this shirt was a win and he's going to keep it in rotation. As for me, I think it's kind of expensive for what it is, but I would probably splurge on one as a gift for someone special.
Palmyth Fishing Hoodie for Men Long Sleeve Sun Protection Shirts UPF 50+ Hooded with Neck Gaiter (Seafoam / Mahi, X-Large)This pull over hoodie is well made and mostly comfortable. I like the fabric and the overall shape. The fabric is light and has a nice balance of drape, structure, and stretch. The thumb tabs are genius and I much prefer this style to a traditional thumb hole in the cuff for extended wear.It fits me well. I am 5'10" 220lbs with a "dad bod" shape and it is roomy without being oversized.This shirt provides excellent sun protection coverage with long sleeves, a huge hood, and the internal gaiter/mask.Unfortunately, it is the gaiter that makes this less versatile for me. Most of the time I am more interested in sun protection than insect protection and the gaiter is tight and a bit bulky when up or down. At least it is unconnected from the hood so it can be worn with the hood up or down and the hood can be worn with the gaiter up or down.The fabric is light and sun-reflective but only moderately breathable, and particularly the gaiter feels a bit claustrophobic to me. My neck is around 18" diameter, so a bit thicker than average, so if you have a slightly thinner neck or if you really need the gaiter, then this could be a bonus. I am comfortable in this shirt at temperatures as low as lower 60s and up into the 80s but I find it a bit hot above the mid 80s unless there is a decent breeze.The hood is huge! The fabric is light enough that the hood doesn't become bulky, but I find it oversized for wearing without a baseball cap. With a cap, the hood is great and provides a lot of shade.Finally, a minor complaint is that the silk screened patterns are rubbery and non-breathable. Fortunately, Palmyth constructs the overall pattern from many smaller sections so the overall effect on breathability is minor. Still, I can feel the decorations stick slightly to my skin when I am sweating.Overall I think this is a good fishing hoodie to wear in and around water but not quite versatile enough for my desired mixed use camping, desert hiking, as well as fishing.

This is a super nice looking Sun shirt. The fit is fantastic and the quality is really good. It has washed great with no shrinking or piling. It is lightweight and can be used other than outdoor activities.

If you work in the sun all day, these shirts are a MUST HAVE. Ultra lightweight, comfortable, built in sun protection, and extremely versatile. They are very durable and the only shirts I have found in over a decade of working in extreme heat and sun all day that battle the sun effectively. The value for your money is insanely good. I have 6 that I wear in rotation for 6 10-hr days a week, and they’ve lasted months longer than I anticipated. Absolutely love the style and with the built in hood and face mask with breathable material is perfect.
