Mixed bag… I really like the net storage & button engineering for the protective back flap. However, brim is too floppy with net weight & I have to sew on bias tape & run a wire through it to make it sturdy. Good news: the brim edge is sewable.

All kinds of snaps to customize your netting and sun cape off the back of the hat. Great fit I think it's the best of the bunch

Really is 1 size fits all. Fits my husband's big head and my very small head, even with a bun, soft material that does not get too hot. Netting feels durable and keeps grass and bugs off my face. Folds small

This is a great hat, and I love the flexibility to be able to wear it several different ways. The only improvement I would make would be to add a string on the inside rim to be able to customize the fit. With the mosquito net stored, the hat fits me fine but when I deployed the mosquito net the hat is too loose and it’s not adjustable.

I love to garden and work in the yard, but I am highly allergic to gnats and have a terrible reaction. If I wanted to continue gardening, I had to do something so I researched protective hats. This one is perfect. It is lightweight and is easy to see through. The brim also helps with sun protection. Great buy at a reasonable price!

Great idea and works well if you buy a darker color. I bought khaki and the mesh is hard to see through. I was thinking of the hot sun on my head because I live in the South.

I get to mow my lawn on my zero turn and I know my neighbors think that I’m going on a Safari, but this hat is amazing! When I’m caught in it people want to know where did I get it?

I bought this hat for a trip to area known for flies and other irritating flying insects.The net works great, keeps the bugs off my face, out of my eyes, nose, mouth, and ears!And I really like the color I bought (light minty green)But I’m not as happy with the hat when I don’t need the net. It’s impossible to get the net rolled back up tightly enough to not have a bulge in that part of the hat. I don’t think it looks bad, it just feels weird.Still I think that’s better than having a separate net that you have to remember to bring along in case you need it.

This works really well for the bugs I would give it a five star but the white netting makes a little bit hard to see when walking around but it does keep the bugs out of my face and ears

I ordered this at self-defense while playing with my dog in the dog park in NE Florida. For some reason we aren’t getting the mosquito spraying that we need by the county out in our wooded- swampy dog park area. Having said that we needed defense. Conventional sprays and diggers were merely marinade for the skeeters.🦟 And then it dawned on me, my hunter cousins used fishing hats with netting to go fishing in Florida, why not try that? Well, I found this betted hat as partly stylish And partly function. It turns out it’s really a nice hat. It’s also extremely efficient. You can adjust the base chords to fit snugly. It’s easy and very handy. You can also roll the netting up into the band of the hat if you just want wear it as a hat or you can release it down over your head and neck, then tighten the bottom chording to secure the fit around your neck protecting you from any mosquito infiltration. It also comes with a convenient snap-on neck flap that covers your neck and shoulders, which creates another barrier of protection against the little bloodthirsty menaces. The only downside I found was it is a little warm on 80+ days being the netting is covering your face and you’re wearing a hat. But it is good sun protection. The plus side is that I have not been bitten since I’ve been wearing it. We do get a lot inquiries as to where we bought? So I sent them right over Amazon. They do come in different colors and patterns as well. Happy hunting my friends and enjoy the outdoors more😇. This is a great product. I’ll be ordering another hat soon. Ladies it also comes in pink!

So I have a Samoyed, and if you don't know what that is.. think husky but pure white and a giant furball. We have a high velocity blow drier for bath time and whenever she needs a blowout from blowing her coat. Lets just say it very quickly turns into a snow globe atmosphere and I just dealt with it.Until I watched a grooming video on YouTube where someone suggested using a mosquito hat... I hadn't heard of such a thing so I came to Amazon and searched around until I found this one, read reviews and decided to give it a try.Absolutely love it, gone are the days where hair is getting all over my face, in my eyes and nose! I haven't yet used it for it's intended purpose of blocking flies and mosquitos but I'm sure I will at one point as we also kayak rivers and such and it'll come camping with us whenever we go. I feel a bit dorky wearing it though grooming my dog but I don't really care, I'm sure my neighbors think we're crazy anyways for having such a hairy dog. But boy is she cute and worth it.I went with this one over others due to:*Being able to tuck the net away when not in use, so will protect it.*Ability to just have it as a sunhat and the optional added bonus of the neck protector. Quality seems really nice and I'm really happy with the product.

Turns out the original product I received was the wrong one (see original review below), it was from a completely different company! So I reordered the Palmyth and returned the incorrect product. Used the Palmyth today for the first time on a trail in NH that is EXTREMELY buggy with mosquitos during the summer months. I have very effective repellent lotion which prevents them from biting but not from swarming my head. Today I wore my Palmyth hat, with the net and the back flap. Sprayed the whole thing with repellent before I left the house. It was an experience like night and day. Kept the mosquitos completely away. They tried but couldn't get in. I tightened the drawstring at the bottom and none flew up inside it. I was able to see just fine through the mesh (I purchased the lightest color). Came across some other hikers and thought they might get a chuckle out of my safari look, but instead they wanted to know where I got it so they could get one, too! I highly recommend this product, it did exactly what I needed it to do.================ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW======================I haven't tried this hat yet for its intended purpose: hiking during heavy mosquito season. Not sure if I will keep it and try it, or return it, so I don't know how effective it will be for keeping the mosquitos away, or how easy it will be to see through while I hike. However, I purchased this product specifically for the flexibility: that I could add the "removable neck flap" (which was not included with my product), and the fact that I could either roll up the net into the "hidden mesh net compartment" (which doesn't exist) or use the net (which does attach as described). I am disappointed that deceptive productive descriptions are allowed. I did go on to the maker's website but the Palmyth Head Net Hat is not included anywhere.

I like this hat a lot except for one thing, when I have the netting down over my face, because of the light color of the net (I have the tan one) if the sun is shining on it I can barely see through it unless the netting is right against my face. The light is reflected off of the net. To see, I have to pull it close to my face, which is not easy to do while you are trying to use your hands to do yard work. Still, it's pretty close to being the right size (do not recommend for men with larger heads), the bottom of the net does not allow bugs in and it does keep gnats out of my face and ears. It seems well made, light weight and the net can tuck up inside the hat if not used. I'm going to keep using it because it's the best solution I've tried so far. My family thinks it looks ridiculous with the net down, I don't really care if it keeps the darn gnats from getting in my eyes and nose!

The biggest complaint I have is that no matter what position you put the drawstring strap in the front you are either allowing entrance for bugs in the front when you are on your hands and knees weeding because the net falls forward creating a gap OR if you draw it up to keep the bugs out then they crawl right under the net in the back of the neck and bite your neck or get entrance even to the ears and face. I've used other nets over the years that have elastic that goes under the arms, over any wide brim hat that works better but my old netting had worn out and decided to try something new. Today after three hours of weeding, moving debris and running my tractor to get bark and spreading I wound up with at least 20 bites on my neck, face and ears from black flies having gotten under the netting front and/or back of neck......not fun. Will buy a whole upper body suit next! I bought the navy blue and it was very easy to see through but the hat is floppy, too big around the head and wanted to ride way down on the forehead making it very hot and uncomfortable to wear. I even tried a variety of other hats inside of this hat to keep it more stable and off the forehead but that didn't work all that well either. Biggest complaint though is the gapping front and back if you are bending, stooping or on your knees. Walking upright all the time a person would probably be okay and bug free but I'd recommend wearing a top that has a collar or a soft turtle neck if you can stand being that warm! I had on a sweat shirt over another short sleeved shirt so my neck was exposed when the net would fall forward.....big mistake on my part!
