Perfect hat for long periods of time in direct sun. The many points of ventilation on this hat made it ideal for sun protection without making it an oven on my head. I wore this during the MR340. It's a 4 day, 340 mile race on the Missouri River. This hat held up and served me well during the race!

This is a very versatile outdoor hat. It's perfect for fishing or any outdoor activity. I've been wearing this hat while doing my photography nature walks. I like that I can wear it with full protection or remove the neck flap and wear it like a normal ball cap. Even in Florida brutal heat, there some mesh at the top and enough air gaps to allow air flow so it's not overwhelmingly hot to wear. This hat fit me perfectly and felt extremely comfortable. One dislike I have is the back size adjuster. It moves a bit too easily and I would of liked a bit more resistance to help keep it in place better.

I started using this to mow my lawn since my neck kept getting cooked. his is a high quality hat and I appreciate the UPF 50+ sun protection. It sys pretty cool with it's built in breathability features. his would be great for fishing, camping or any log term sun exposure activity. It fit my head well I think for under $30 this is a good value.

Although this hat is a little pricy, it is well worth the cost for the snap at the neck. This means I am not digging out hot shirts with collars to protect my neck. The adjustable headband is well made so if my husband grabs my hat for his big head, the band works great for readjusting. The formed hat bib helps with angling the hat for more protection. I live where the sun is intense and this hat packs for home or travel. The snaps work well making this hat reasonably priced for all the quality designs.

At the coaching of my dermatologist, after freezing of many pre-cancer spots, I am becoming more senstive to covering my head and neck. I have a number of wide brim hats which work well in general for the top of my head. If I am at the beach or some other setting with intense sunlight, having some neck if not face protection beyond the zinc infused sunscreen is desireable. This hat offers a variety of configuration options including a vanilla ball cap. The side/neck covering can be added and unsnapped from the brim for just the back of the neck or kept on the brim for side covering. For adding protection it can be snapped in the front as well for nearly full covering on the front. There are some ventilation holes at the top of the cap which are covered by fabric. As such they may not breathe as much as uncovered vents, but you also won't get burned from sun entering through the vents which I have had happen.

As someone with fair skin who burns very easily out in the elements, I have come to appreciate good clothing which offers skin protection.I love that the neck flap is versatile in that it can be removed completely, and/or worn for back of the neck protection but also can be snapped in the front so as to both offer sun protection in the front as well as help secure it in place during windy conditions.I also very much appreciate that the brim can be folded for easy packing or even sticking into a pocket or backpack without affecting the structural integrity of the hat itself.Having holes in which sunglasses can be secured is a nice extra touch as well.Adjustable back fabric buckle is great for making this be a good fit for most adult sized heads.Nice lightweight and breezy fabric with breathability is great for those hot and humid days and nights.Washable…. Bonus points for that even though it’s hand wash and air dry. Would have been nice to be able to machine wash and dry but I understand why that’s not feasible.Some slight negatives but not enough to be deal breakers. At the current listed price point of $33.98, I think that’s a bit pricey and perhaps out of budget for many folks.I also am not thrilled with the manufacturer’s name stitched on the front of the cap. I’m not a fan of being a walking advertising for any particular article of clothing unless perhaps I’m an staff member, which in this case, I am obviously not. It is subtle on the hat but I would prefer if they just kept in on the inside instead of on the exterior.

This Palmyth sun hat is a really practical wide-brim fishing/outdoor hat. I like the big brim for good sun coverage and the detachable neck flap that gives extra protection for your neck and ears when you need it.It feels lightweight and breathable, with a chin strap to keep it from blowing off on windy days. The UPF 50+ rating is solid for long days outside. I have been using it for yard work and it keeps me really cool and the sun off my neck which is great.Overall, a no-nonsense, functional hat that does the job well for fishing, hiking, yard work, or just everyday summer sun protection. Good value if you want something useful rather than just stylish.

I bought this for my sport-fisherman husband, and he’s been really impressed with it. The sun protection is excellent, especially with the long neck flap, and he loves how lightweight and breathable it feels even on hot days out on the water. I got this UV protection hat at the perfect time to use for doing yard work during an early summer, high heat, tons of sun day, and it completely covered and prevented my neck from getting any sunburn, and even kept my neck and head much cooler than wearing my old jungle hat I normally use for yard work. It’s also super comfortable wearing all day, even on my fat head. It seems kinda pricey but, it’s definitely worth it for preventing damage from the sun and heat, so I highly recommend this hat, which I can see would obviously be excellent as a fishing hat as well.
