Ordered this pair of palmyth fishing shorts for my husband. He loves them and wears them all the time! They are great quality and super comfortable for long days on the water. Material is lightweight and dries quickly. True to size, he has a 38" waist and went with the XL, fit is perfect. The back pocket to hold his drink is an amusing touch, fits a standard drunk can. Highly recommend!

Shorts were received and good initial impression.2. Black in color and well fabricated from lightweight/tight weave nylon which will shun pet hair, lint, etc - no loose threads/seams or fabric blemishes were noted.3. Seams and fabric appear durable as both resisted tugging with no negative results - light but strong.4. Light and airy fabric should keep you cool and dry easily as advertised.5. Front snap/zipper closure with elastic and belt loop waist band.6. Standard side pockets (no zippers) and lower/incorporated cargo style pockets with flap/single snap closures.7. Left rear zipper pocket and far right/rear side storage pocket with elastic top.8. Attached left front D ring for attaching lighter cargo.9. True to Size Fit (Large = 34 to 36) hitting above knee - elastic waist and roomy cut will allow active movement - comfortable.10. I got these shorts because I wanted something with belt loops I could wear playing softball when it's too hot for the long pants. These look like they'll fit the bill perfectly. My 2" elastic belt fits easily through the loops. The shorts fit well, and while their size chart shows the actual measurements of the garment, be sure to allow yourself some "wearing ease". You'll need 2-4" at the hip for sitting and bending for them to not feel tight. My waist is about an inch smaller, and my hips are 6" smaller, so I've got plenty of room to move without feeling restricted. My husband has a 31" waist, and he feels like they'd fall off of him without a belt.The shorts have all the pockets pictured - deep front pockets, snap-flap pockets on those, an elastic-top pocket on the side - big enough for a store-size 16 oz water bottle or a phone - and a zippered back pocket that's more than big enough to hold a passport! These shorts would be great for traveling, since they launder easily and dry quickly. I washed them in cold water, then tossed them in the dryer with the rest of the load for about 40 minutes on low heat. They came out great - less wrinkles than on the guys in the brand photos. The fabric is NOT stretchy, but the cut is loose enough that it's not an issue.I'm really happy with these, and hubby would like a pair too if we could get them in a Small. The price is comparable with high-end stuff when it's on sale, so these seem like a good price for all the details you get. As an experienced seamstress I can tell you these wouldn't be worth my time to make unless I was getting $70 to do it.

These seem to be surprisingly well made with a lightweight rip stop material very similar in feel and weight to the Columbia brand at about 1/4 the cost. The fit is true to size, and the expandable waist is amazing. The regular pockets are deep enough so you don’t have to worry about anything falling out of them. The cargo pockets are a bit shallow, but work well for me glucose tablets and other small items. Only time will reveal durability, but for the price a stellar product.

Usually like this company products. I have a hat, shirts and shorts. These fell short for me. They are just not quite right in many ways. The beverage pocket is didnt realize was for a can, not sure why I wpuld want a can pressed against my back thigh and allow it to get body temp warm. Not sure about ypu but without insulation my body will cook it. So it is a weird spot as well. Does work alright for keys. Then the pockets all seem to be a little to small. The front are not hood for securing and keeping wallet or phone in place tight so risks falling out. The front pockets are to small for most things may work well for fishing items but everyday practicality it falls short. The fit is correct but the features all feel like they fall short or small and miss for me. They are light and are solid quality.

These are nice shorts but they just don't fit my body too well. They are a bit awkward to wear and I feel like they would have been great if the material were stretchy. There's zero stretch in these shorts, my thick thighs are probably why these shorts just don't gel with me.Moving on from the fit, I have to say that I'm not a fan of the pocket layout on these shorts. There's no back pocket on the right side. I can't be the only guy out there that keeps his wallet on the right side and doesn't care for the left side rear pocket only. I do like that it's zippered to keep your wallet secure while out on the water. The front pockets have a second smaller cargo pocket on the front that is just odd. It's big enough to hold my wallet but then my wallet is sitting in a weird position halfway between the side and the front of my thigh.I have to admit that I do like the can pocket. It's big enough to hold a standard sized can of whatever you want, just don't forget it's there before you move around too much. It's in a good location that's out of the way but still accessible.These shorts are really close to being great, I think that a stretchy material would make a huge difference in the fit and comfort. The material used is very breathable and quick drying, it's great for hot days but for me it's not suitable for an active day.

These are well-made, fit well, and my wife was happy with the appearance (that's the important thing!). I was wearing them as ordinary shorts, and maybe this pocket issue is just me, but I usually keep my wallet in my right rear pocket. On these shorts, there really isn't a right rear pocket. There's a small pocket back there, more on the hip, but it's short enough that my wallet stuck out a bit and I wasn't going to carry my wallet like that. There's a real left-rear pocket with a zipper, but I just couldn't get comfortable with my wallet there. Like I said, maybe it's just me, but that's why I couldn't give it 5 stars.

These are really great shorts. The fit is true to size, they have some awesome pockets and are comfortable. The style is great and they can easily be worn as regular shorts, making them versatile. I honestly didn't believe the quick dry, but holy moly, they dry fast! I want everything made out of this kind of nylon, it is perfect.

I love everything about these other than sliding off my waist when I sit. I don't know if it's a design flaw or me. I do know that every other pair of shorts I own like these from different brands fit perfectly fine. Nonetheless I will see if breaking them in helps and update my review if I have any updates.

Usually I am very satisfied with the plymyth designs. These shorts are okay design. You do not need to pocket for a can of beverage. It would've been a lot better without that design. But the shorts are very comfortable.The quality of material is spot on and lightweight. I do like to fit.

These fishing shorts are very quick-dry and lightweight. Comfortable to wear with all kinds of pockets for your gear and personal things. The cargo pockets in front snap closed and one of the rear pockets zips. The others are open. There is elastic in the back for comfort and it also has beltloops. The shorts have a 7"inseam and I would have preferred an 8".
